Celeste's sausage custard

1 lb of sausage links
8 slices firm white bread cut in cubes
1 1/2 cups of shredded Swiss cheese
5 beaten eggs
2 cups of milk
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 tspn pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard

Night before prepare, cook and drain sausage.
Cut into bite size pieces.
Arrange sausages and bread cubes in bottom of a greased 2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle cheese on top.

Combine eggs milk, cream and seasonings and pour over bread and sausage. Leave dish covered in fridge over night.

Next morning, remove dish from fridge and let come to room temperature. Preheat oven to 350 F.
Bake dish uncovered until it has set and puffed and browned about 1hour. Serves 8 to 12!!!
